Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Qabas Quran Academy's website and student/teacher portal. By creating an account or booking a lesson, you agree to these Terms. This is a general starting version — please review it with a legal professional before relying on it for a live production launch.

1. The service

Qabas Quran Academy provides one-on-one online Quran and Arabic-language tutoring, delivered via video call (Zoom or Google Meet), scheduled and managed through our web portal.

2. Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Where a student is a minor, the account is created and managed by a parent or guardian.
• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
• We may suspend or deactivate accounts that violate these Terms or are used for abusive, fraudulent, or unlawful behavior.

3. Packages, payment, and invoices

• Lesson hours are purchased in packages. An invoice is created when you request a package, and hours are added to your balance once the invoice is marked paid.
• Payment can be made online via PayPal, or by bank transfer arranged directly with the academy — in the bank-transfer case, an administrator marks the invoice paid manually once the transfer is confirmed.
• All fees are shown in the currency displayed at checkout. Prices may change for future purchases; hours you've already paid for are not affected.

4. Scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations

• Lessons are booked against a teacher's published available hours.
• Rescheduling and cancellation are subject to the limits shown in your dashboard at the time (for example, a monthly cap on free reschedules, and a number of free cancellations per month after which a fee may apply). These limits are enforced automatically and may be adjusted by the academy from time to time.
• Please provide as much notice as possible when you need to reschedule or cancel, out of fairness to your teacher.

5. Conduct

We expect respectful behavior from students, parents, and teachers alike. We may suspend access for harassment, abusive language, attempts to circumvent the platform to avoid fees, or sharing lesson access with unauthorized people.

6. Video lessons

Lessons are conducted via Zoom or Google Meet, depending on your teacher's setup. We do not record lessons by default. Please do not record or redistribute lesson content without the other party's consent.

7. Intellectual property

Course materials, worksheets, and content provided by the academy remain the property of Qabas Quran Academy or its teachers and are provided for your personal learning use only.

8. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is." We aim for reliable scheduling and delivery but don't guarantee uninterrupted access — for example, occasional technical issues with video providers are outside our direct control. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you've paid for the affected lesson package.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the portal after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
