Qabas Quran Academy ("Qabas", "we", "us") provides online Quran and Arabic-language tutoring. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. • Account information: name, email address, and (for students) age range or country, provided when you register or when an account is created for you.
• Lesson data: scheduling, attendance, teacher reports, homework notes, and progress records tied to your lessons.
• Payment information: when you pay via PayPal, PayPal processes your card/bank details directly — we never see or store your full payment card details. We do store the amount, date, and PayPal transaction reference for your invoice records.
• Communications: messages sent through the in-portal messaging system between students, teachers, and staff.
• Technical data: IP-based country/locale detection (used only to show the site in your likely language), browser type, and basic usage logs for security and troubleshooting.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and deliver lessons.
• To process payments and send invoice/payment confirmation emails.
• To send account-related emails: welcome messages, password-reset links, and payment confirmations.
• To create video-meeting links for your lessons via Zoom or Google Calendar/Meet, depending on which the teacher has connected.
• To improve the academy's services and respond to support requests, suggestions, or complaints submitted through the portal.

3. Third-party services we use

We rely on the following third parties to operate the academy. Each has its own privacy policy governing the data they process on our behalf:

• PayPal — payment processing.
• Zoom and/or Google Calendar/Meet — video lesson delivery, depending on the teacher's setup.
• Our email provider (SMTP) — delivering account and transactional emails.

4. Data retention

We keep account and lesson records for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes. You can request deletion of your account by contacting us (see below).

5. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to export it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time.

6. Children's privacy

Many of our students are minors enrolled by a parent or guardian. Where a student is a minor, we consider the enrolling parent/guardian responsible for providing consent and for reviewing this policy on the student's behalf.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted password storage, short-lived login sessions, and secure cookies for authentication. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
